I love watching the Red Carpet for most award shows.
It's always interesting to spot trends with accessories and colors. Even hairstyles.
I noticed a lot styling reminiscent of the Roaring 20's-wavy hair, simpler jewelry, and sleek dresses.
Here are my best and worst dressed for the Golden Globes 2012.

Please keep in mind that as I sat in judgment of these fabulous women's fashion choices, I was wearing a thermal top and lounge pants.
And I might have had some dabs of retina-a on a couple of pesky pimples.
I'm just saying...

Charlize Theron in Dior Couture
Best Dressed
Michelle Williams in Jason Wu
Best Dressed runner up
Katharine McPhee in Donna Karen
Best in blush/neutral
Mireille Enos (dress maker unknown at this time!)
Best in yellow
Emma Stone in Lanvin
Best Ginger Girl-I love this color gown on her!
and that belt! How cool is that?!
And worst dressed goes to...
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier
Oh no.
No. No. No.
The only redeeming factor was that she said her two year daughter picked it out for her.
And being ageless is always en vogue...
Julianne Moore in Chanel
(50 years old)
Diane Lane in Reem Acra
(46 years old)
and Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka
(66 years old)
These ladies are inspiration for the saying,
"It's not the years of your life but the life in your years".

I think this was the Golden Globes where I most often said "DAAAA-YUM! Hope I look as good at their age!"
ReplyDeleteI loved Emma Stone's dress! And also Jessica Biel's, Reese Witherspoon's, and Salma Hayek's dresses.
I didn't love Angelina's dress. It was too "Red Cross Worker Goes Formal". Which was apt, I guess, but not a great look on her.
Omg! You are soooo right about Angelina Jolie's dress! That was exactly it! I did like her hair up though, which is a rare look for her!
DeleteWow, you're super quick! Sadly, I was on the road (had to drive to Orange County for my mom's birthday, and was driving back), so missed the red carpet entirely.
ReplyDeleteCharlize was my best dressed too!!
ReplyDeleteWorst was diana argon- not a fan!
I noticed a lot of cream/tan/nude dresses!
overall i thought the red carpet was great!
I thought Evan Rachel Wood killed it. Loved her. Loved Emma Stone, Michelle Wiliams and Kate Winslet (she's my girl crush). I didn't like Madonna (leave the glove to Michael) or Sarah Michelle Gellar. Everyone keeps ooohing and aaahing about Angelina but I felt that dress wasn't right for her ridiculously thin frame. Bravo to Tina Fey for NOT wearing black but I didn't feel like that was "her" dress. Wayyyy to many mermaid silhouettes on the red carpet. Love Helen Mirren. She is a hot old broad and I hope I look half as good at her age. :)
ReplyDeletei thought Jane Fonda look spectacular
ReplyDeletepoor Meryl Streep, she looked like a school teacher

I thought Emma Stone looked FABULOUS!
ReplyDelete"I was wearing a thermal top and lounge pants" haha love it. I was totally wearing my pajamas while watching this. I completely agree with all of your choices! I also loved Evan Rachel Wood's short hair. Super chic.
